International Day of Women and Girls in Science




To celebrate the International Day of Women and Girls in Science 2019, EPA Victoria brought together some of Victoria's leading female scientists for a livestreamed event on Monday 11 February.

Hosted by Victoria's Chief Environmental Scientist, Dr Andrea Hinwood, the event featured a keynote address by Dr Marguerite Evans-Galea, co-founder and CEO of Women in STEMM Australia.

Following the keynote address was an interactive panel facilitated by Dr Bridie O'Donnell – Head of the Office for Women in Sport and Recreation. Panellists included Dr Amanda Caples – Victoria’s Lead Scientist, Dr Gillian Sparkes – the Commissioner for Environmental Sustainability Victoria, Dr Andrea Hinwood – Victoria's Chief Environmental Scientist and Dr Angie Bone – Victoria’s Deputy Chief Health Officer.
