EPA’s primary role in these projects is to advise proponents on steps they should take to minimise or eliminate impacts on community and the environment. This includes providing advice on guidelines and standards for soil, groundwater and air quality management, as well as other environmental considerations such as construction noise and waste management.
Victoria’s Level Crossing Removal Project will see the removal over eight years of 50 congested level crossings across Melbourne, nominated by the Victorian Government.
